Alanie Steenkamp: Director

As a mum of 3 young children I know how the stress of a busy lifestyle can put strain on your body.
I believe that 1-2 hours of Pilates a week can make a tremendous difference to your wellbeing.

I am a qualified Pilates instructor, and earned my certification in STOTT Pilates in 2005. I believe in
taking a personalised approach to your Pilates experience, getting to know you and your body’s
needs and working with you to develop a customised Pilates workout specifically tailored for your
requirements.

In 2007 I signed up for my first Stott Pilates training course, and I have never looked back.  I really believe this is an amazing way to bring exercise and movement awareness into your life.  Increase your mobility and strength, improve your posture, develop an understanding of what parts of your body should be moving and working and just as importantly what shouldn’t be.  This is mindful movement that can take you through all stages and ages of your life and I want to help others understand the benefits that better movement brings.

I recently moved to New Zealand from Australia with my husband and two children. Originally from the UK, I graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2005. I am Polestar certified and have many years experience of injury prevention and rehabilitation through Pilates. My passion is movement and seeing the difference normal movement can make in peoples lives. I can’t wait to meet you all and see you in my class or for a private session soon!
